Patrick Lloyd Hulme
Patrick Lloyd Hulme (professional name Lloyd Hulme) was born within a few short miles of such literary and musical intellects as the "Bronte's and Frederick Delius." He was classically trained at the London Trinity College of Music passing out with "Honours and Distinction." He was a child protege and played in bands and orchestra throughout the length and breadth of Great Britain.
Under the guidance of P. L. Hulme senior he developed a unique vocal and instrumental theatre act, touring throughout Great Britain and on to many parts of the world. Soon, Johnny Duncan (of the famous Blue Grass Boys) spotted his unique talent taking him on to his TV show. He appeared in every show of the entire series. He also did twelve TV appearances with Ewan McColl (who wrote "Dirty Old Town" amongst many others) and three decades later, with Kirsty McColl (of the Pogues). Then the globe - trotting Paul England spotted him and signed him to his own stable of stars which included Winifred Atwell, Karl Denver and Julie London.
The list of stars he has worked with or supported are endless: Morecambe and Wise, Les Dawson, Des O' Connor, Cannon and Ball, Mike Yarwood, Ted Rogers, The Platters, The Marvels, Joe Cocker, Elton John (in Paris), Marty Wilde, Billy Fury, Joe Longthorne, Nat Gonella, Memphis Slim, P. J. Proby, Emilre Ford, Guy Mitchell,, Frank Ifield and an unforgetable impromptu performance with the one - and - only Luciano Pavarotti. 'PAV' remarked that Lloyd possessed 'perfect pitch' and - coming from the world's greatest tenor - Lloyd considers this to be one of the greatest compliments he has ever had. Lloyd also reached No. 7. in 1990 with a Northj - East football anthem : The Roker Roar.
Lloyd has also had published (including a CD featuring a phenomenol 'work' - Lady X - The Power of Destiny - which took three and a half years to write and (started before Princess Diana died, finished after she passed away) which is being considered for Broadway and the West End. He is also a writer of children's stories.
Lloyd holds the record for being the longest reigning, continual pianist/vocalist/entertainer in the 'Jet - Set' play-ground known as Puerto Banus, Marbella, working six and seven nights a week and never taking a holiday for almost twenty years.
His own bar - aptly named Lloyd's - was the 'in - place' to be during the 'Golden Period' of Puerto Banus. During those heady days, Lloyd - the darling of the 'Jet - Set'- entertained anyone of any note: Adnan Koshoggi, Sir James Goldsmith, James Hunt, Sean Connery, Julia Morley, Mark Thatcher, Luciano Pavarotti, Rod Stewart, Lonnie Donegan, Vincent O' Brien, Robert Sangster, Shirley Bassey, Tommy Steele, Rod Steiger, Henry Cooper, Rudy Coopman, Eddie Avoth, Jimmy Whote 'Hurricane' Alex Higgins, Xavier Hollander (The Happy Hooker), Bernard Langer, Geaff Lewis, Pat Eddery, Mike Reid,...the list goes on.
Lloyd is considered to be the greatest, ever, No.1. piano/vocalist/entertainer ever to have played on the Costa Del Sol. His fertile imagination and musical ability is ever in full flow, creating wonderful projects, including sound - tracks, his own compositions, poetry and stories, plus, the completion of his own, eagerly awaited biography entitled "Cobblestone Dreams"
